What does babes supporting babes mean to you?
I listened to a wonderful podcast the other day where someone said “Remember to treat everyone that you meet as if they’ve had a broken heart” which really resonated with me because we never know what’s actually happening to people who we meet in our day, but it’s important to remember to treat others the way we want to be treated, and being a babe, to me, means exactly that. Being kind and respectful to everyone we meet, even if they aren’t that way towards us.
If you could choose your nickname, what would it be?
C! (Yep, I am a Gossip Girl fan, loved that they were just “S” & “B”)
What’s your spirit animal?
Dogs. I love that they’re always happy and full of love.
What’s your proudest babe moment or achievement?
Leaving my full-time job to pursue this dream of being a blogger! It was so scary, but so worth it.
What’s the most unexpected thing you have in your purse or wallet?
Earphones. I love listening to music and podcasts whenever I’m walking or sitting in a cab.
Tell us about a time where you were faced with a situation that you could have been unkind, but chose to be a babe instead?
I’ve had very few mean messages written on my Instagram profile, but when I have, I just ignore them. No need to continue the mean spirit vibes — just positive ones!
What product would you seriously stockpile if you found out they weren’t selling it anymore?
The Body Shop’s Coconut Oil Body Butter! Obsessed.
If you had a yacht, what would be the name of it?
Todo Bien — all good in Spanish.
What was the best piece of advice you received when you were first starting your career?
Remember to focus on the things that bring you joy. Stay true to your own voice and goals. And keep your receipts and write on the back what they’re from to make tax time easier! The last one was from my Dad!
Red, white, or rose?
Sparkling Rosé.
When I dance I look like….
A very happy person! Dancing brings me so much joy. I always have a huge smile on my face when I dance!
Who do you channel when you’re about to do something that scares you?
I don’t so much channel a person, I just remind myself that we have one life to live — and I want to live it! I suppose I also think of my family and loved ones and know that they will love me no matter what happens, so there’s really nothing to lose.
What’s your favourite destination to visit?
Very tough question — I love Italy and Greece, but I also have so much love for Mexico and have amazing memories from Thailand, and Vietnam, and Morocco. So many favourites!
What’s your favourite meal to eat?
Tacos with corn tortillas and tons of guacamole.
What’s the most fulfilling part of your career?
Getting to be my own boss and really feel like every hour I put into my business is helpful and meaningful.
Where’s your favourite place to draw inspiration from?
Traveling instantly inspires me. Changing spaces can ignite a new view and give me so many new ideas. I also love Pinterest and Instagram of course.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Chocolate chip cookies, beer, chocolate cake, milk mhocolate, and once in awhile Miss Vickie’s Salt & Vinegar Chips.
What quality are you working on yourself right now?
To enjoy each moment just a little bit more; to really be present.
What’s the biggest hurdle you’ve had to overcome in business?
To not take it personally when people say “no.”
Coffee meeting or drinks meeting?
Coffee meeting…then cocktails and dancing!
If you’re going out for a cocktail you’d order…
If you had unlimited budget for 2 hours of shopping where would you go?
Barneys! Or, online at MatchesFashion.com.
What’s your favourite movie?
Romeo & Juliet, the original from 1968. Olivia Hussy is just so stunning. I also love the 1996 version too of course. Who doesn’t love Leo!
