MEET DANIELLE + LINDA: Introducing accomplished mother-daughter duo, Danielle Wiebe and Linda Hollyer. Inspired by forty years of experience working as an entrepreneur, Linda decided to write a book as a way to give back to her community. “Letters to My Daughters, Business Advice for Entrepreneurs has become an Amazon bestseller for the engaging advice and stories Linda tells throughout the novel. Following in her mother’s footsteps, Danielle founded Business Babes Collective to help fellow businesswomen and entrepreneurs grow. Providing online and offline resources, events, and a global community of support, Business Babes Collective has now expanded to five cities across North America. Danielle and Linda’s drive to uplift others and support women along the way makes them true babes.

What does babes supporting babes mean to you?

Danielle - It means supporting and celebrating other women who are doing amazing things, giving them a platform to share their perspectives. I am a huge believer in collaboration and love working with other local and women-owned businesses.

Linda - I love to see women trying to help each other to achieve their goals.   We cannot all be good at everything and helping others with our strengths is a great way to collaborate.

Do you have a life mantra/motto that you live by?

Danielle- My favourite quote is from my favourite Author - Bob Goff “We won't be distracted by comparison if we're captivated with purpose.”

Linda- If you are not where you want to be, it is up to you to make the changes to take you there.  Don’t settle!

What does your day-to-day look like?

Danielle- It is always so different. Some days I’m in my PJ’s, a top bun, and no makeup responding to e-mails, other days I’m setting up and executing an event. (I do put on makeup for that ;)) On days off I’m usually hanging out with my Hubby and nieces and nephews.

Linda- I like to spend a few hours either writing or working on social media, but my priority is for the sports I like to do every day, snow skiing, hiking, yoga and anything else that gets me out into nature.

What is your most used app?

Danielle- Instagram of course!

Linda- Instagram for sure.

What product would you seriously stockpile if you found out they weren’t selling anymore?

Danielle- Most likely, scrunchies from my BFF’s business, Bunhead

Linda- Some of the lovely wines from Fort Berens Winery in Lillooet, BC.

What emoji best describes you?

Danielle- Most likely the laughing emoji! Not because I’m particularly that funny, but I find a lot of things hilarious. 🤣

Linda- I am a very affectionate person.  I love hugging people, so it would be... 🤗

What is the biggest hurdle you’ve had to overcome in business?

Danielle- Being okay with being misunderstood.

Linda- Dealing with being a woman in a man’s industry.

Who should EVERYONE be following right now?

Danielle- Honestly, I admire SO many local women in business, if you go to our business page, you’ll many of the amazing women I admire!  But I’d also have to agree with my Mama’s answer!

Linda- @sunnylenarduzzi

Have you always wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Danielle- Yes, Originally, I wanted to own my own spa. (Like Scandinave in Whistler) Who knows, maybe one day I will?

Linda- Yes for as long as I can remember.  I am convinced I was born with the entrepreneurial gene.  After 45 years in business, I still wake up excited for what is next.

What is your favourite place to travel to?

Danielle- My husband and I went to Italy for our friend's wedding this past June, I have to say that is one of my favourites!

Linda- I love the UK but I don’t have a favourite.  I have traveled to 42 countries and most of them are fabulous!

Tell us about a Babe who has supported you?

Danielle- I don’t know if this counts but I call my husband Babe and he’s my biggest supporter. ;) Also, my mama + family, of course, my team: Nancy + Sydnee and our Chapter Leaders in each of our cities are AMAZING!

Linda- My three daughters are my biggest fans!

How would you describe your personal style?

Danielle- I feel like I am one of two extremes: comfortable and casual, or fancy and sparkly. It depends on the day. ;)

Linda- Classic and casual.

What is the most fulfilling part of your career?

Danielle- When someone shares that through our community they have met people or had an experience that has had a real positive impact in their life. It gives me so much joy and keeps me going on hard days!

Linda- I love speaking with my readers, I can spend hours with someone that has read my book. I love supporting young women in business.

What inspired you to pursue the Business Babes Collective?

Danielle- When I started the journey of being a business owner I wanted to network with people that were like-minded, and I wanted it to be fun! I also felt a bit lonely as I was one of the only one of my friends at the time pursuing a business. I wanted to create a space where women could feel like they belong, so they felt comfortable asking questions, getting feedback, and meeting other business owners that they could collaborate with.

Are you a morning or night person?

Danielle- Night Owl, I always get my best ideas at 2 am unfortunately.

Linda- Morning is my best and most productive time.

What is your guilty pleasure?

Danielle - Homemade Popcorn with coconut oil, salt, and nutritional yeast. SO GOOD!

Linda- Chocolate and wine, can I have two?

What quality are you working on yourself right now?

Danielle- I most likely got this from my mom, but organization is something I have to work at every day!

Linda- To be more organized. It really doesn’t come naturally.

What advice do you have for those trying to break into your industry?

Danielle- Building a community takes time, we are four years in, and I feel like we are JUST getting started. You have to be passionate about people, building strong relationships and connections is your most important job!

Linda- If you are becoming a writer, make sure you narrow down your audience. Don’t try to appeal to everyone.
