Lauren Armes is the founder of Welltodo Global, a company dedicated to informing and connecting brands, influencers and investors in the global wellness industry. We had the pleasure of meeting with Lauren at The Bread and Jam Festival in London, where we learned that she also coaches and mentors female entrepreneurs in the wellness industry. She has been featured in a multitude of publications such as The Times, Glamour and BBC, and writes a monthly column for Women’s Health about entrepreneurship.
What does babes supporting babes mean to you?
Every day I work with entrepreneurs in the wellness industry. The female-led businesses that I see succeeding are powered by women who want to support and work with other women to collaborate, share tools, tips and resources. And in my experience, having a network of people around you that are loving and supportive changes everything.
If you could choose your nickname, what would it be?
In Australia, where I’m from, everyone has a nickname. I was Loz to my family and friends. In Britain, people are a little more conservative and I’m more often Lauren here. 🙂 Loz is good! 😉
What’s your spirit animal?
Apparently it’s a beaver! According to the lovely Ruby Warrington from The Numinous.
What’s your proudest babe moment or achievement?
Moving to the UK, quitting my job and growing a business over 4 years.
What’s the most unexpected thing you have in your purse or wallet?
Some stray walnuts?!
Tell me about a time where you were faced with a situation that you could have been unkind, but chose to be a babe instead?
Compassion is everything in business. There have been countless times when I’ve been let down or disappointed by the actions of someone around me. I always choose to respond with understanding — with a belief that people usually have the best intentions and life is more fun when you assume that the majority of the time!
What product would you seriously stockpile if you found out they weren’t selling it anymore?
Tough question — probably Lucas Pawpaw.
If you had a yacht, what would be the name of it?
Eileen, after my late Grandma.
What was the best piece piece of advice you received when you were first starting your career?
Two things: if you’re feeling fear, you’re headed in the right direction. And more practically: outsource stuff you’re not good at or don’t enjoy… ASAP.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received now that you’re in your career?
Mindset is everything — your belief system will determine your success.
Red, white, or rose?
Rose.
When I dance I look like….
Gumby.
Who do you channel when you’re about to do something that scares you?
My future self.
What’s your favourite destination to visit?
The Gold Coast, Australia (my home).
What’s your favourite meal to eat?
Delicious fresh seafood and a scrumptious salad!
What’s the most fulfilling part of your career?
As a business coach, I get to spend my days supporting women as they find success and freedom. It’s incredibly fulfilling.
Where’s your favourite place to draw inspiration from?
Long walks, inspiring business books and journaling.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Dark chocolate and croissants.
What quality are you working on yourself right now?
I’m constantly challenging my beliefs about making money. It’s where I see most women need support in their businesses, so I know I need to be bold in my beliefs in order to teach and empower others.
What’s the biggest hurdle you’ve had to overcome in business?
Learning how to scale an idea with no investment and financial backing! It takes serious selling and that can be uncomfortable at the best of times.
Coffee meeting or drinks meeting?
Coffee.
If you’re going out for a cocktail you’d order…
A french martini.
If you had unlimited budget for 2 hours of shopping where would you go?
Sloane Street in Chelsea, London.

Love Actually 🙂
