What does babes supporting babes mean to you?
It means creating an environment in which all women you interact with feel a sense of encouragement and love. It’s inspiring fellow babes to be whoever and whatever makes them the happiest and best version of themselves!
If you could choose your nickname, what would it be?
I’d have to go with either Thumper or Tigger.
What’s your spirit animal?
Definitely a cheeky monkey.
What’s your proudest babe moment or achievement?
Being an Angel For Animals for Peta2!
What’s the most unexpected thing you have in your purse or wallet?
A couple things! A plethora of Carmex tubes, like three at a time, and a cue card from my awesome therapist with grounding statements.
Tell us about a time where you were faced with a situation that you could have been unkind, but chose to be a babe instead?
I didn’t get my own high school graduation, so my best friend at the time took me to his. A group of girls found out I was wearing a red full-length dress and were less than thrilled. I heard through friends that they said they were going to bring scissors to cut it up if I wore it (!!!). So naturally, I wore it, felt confident in who I was, and smiled when they looked my way!
What product would you seriously stockpile if you found out they weren’t selling it anymore?
That’s so hard, I’m a product junkie! My recent holy grail item is Hourglass GIRL Lip Stylo. I’d buy a thousand in every colour.
If you had a yacht, what would be the name of it?
The Montague, my dog’s full name.
What was the best piece of advice you received when you were first starting your career?
Work hard and find out what sets you apart. And have fun!
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received now that you’re in your career?
Enjoy both the busy times and the down times. Each are rewarding and important.
Red, white, or rose?
Rosé all day 😉
When I dance I look like….
A dancer! (I sure hope)
Who do you channel when you’re about to do something that scares you?
I channel my family. My parents, siblings, and most of all my aunt who we lost to cancer when I was 12. She’s one of my biggest inspirations ever and faced life’s challenges with such courage, strength and love.
What’s your favourite destination to visit?
I love Hawaii, but my new favourite city is Paris. I’ve only been once but it stole my heart.
What’s your favourite meal to eat?
A really delicious vegan caesar salad or a vegan grilled cheese. Oh and an almond milk smoothie. Basically everything.
What’s the most fulfilling part of your career?
One of the best parts is connecting to your scene partners so deeply. So many of my closest friends are people I’ve worked with. Having an outlet for my emotions is also extremely fulfilling and rewarding.
Where’s your favourite place to draw inspiration from?
I draw inspiration from so many different people. My friends, my family, other artists, strangers. I also draw a lot of inspiration from my own personal struggles.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Watching YouTube makeup videos and eating a lot of vegan sweets.
What quality are you working on yourself right now?
Accepting the unknown. It’s very easy to fear the unknown, but I’ve decided to try and become curious about it instead.
What’s the biggest hurdle you’ve had to overcome in business?
Breaking into the American market and getting my visas was really tough. It’s the one thing about being Canadian that’s hard!
Coffee meeting or drinks meeting?
Both, but usually coffee. I’m a homebody, especially at night.
If you’re going out for a cocktail you’d order…
I’m a vodka soda with lime girl. Sometimes I’ll do a mojito for a treat!
