Tracy Young is one very busy boss babe! Not only is she a full-time mom to three beautiful kids, she also works as a contributor to Create Space on the popular lifestyle blog, Tobruckave. While managing life as a mom with children all under the age of 5, Tracy also enjoys focusing on spirituality and honing her writing skills in her free time. Brunette the Label female founder Miriam Alden has been a close friend of Tracy’s for many years, and actually introduced Tracy and her husband, Steve. We’re so excited for you to learn more about this super mom!
What does babes supporting babes mean to you?
For me, it means to exude positive energy to ALL. To let go of your own ego and shine a light on others so they feel as though they’ve not gone unnoticed. This could be with a compliment or encouragement or maybe just a simple smile to a stranger on the street who looks like their having a bad day.
If you could choose your nickname, what would it be?
Oh gosh, I have a few that have stuck with me, Hammill (Maiden name), Troce, or Burn-dogs.
What’s your spirit animal?
Leo the LION baby. I have a need to be independent and yet love being a leader of the pack. I’m also a mama to my “cubs” so I’m extremely protective.
What’s your proudest babe moment or achievement?
My proudest babe moment was the birth of my firstborn. No one can prepare you for what you will go through but the female body is amazing and when you hold your baby for the first time, nothing will beat that feeling of pride.
What’s the most unexpected thing you have in your purse or wallet?
A picture of my mom and dad from years ago.
Tell us about a time where you were faced with a situation that you could have been unkind, but chose to be a babe instead?
A while back I found out that someone I was close to and honestly looked up to had spoken badly of me to a group of my peers. I was so hurt and angry. I wanted to call her and rip her one but chose to take the high road and didn’t stoop to her level. Sometimes you do just have to bite your tongue and leave them in your dust.
What product would you seriously stockpile if you found out they weren’t selling it anymore?
Dior Addict Lip Maximizer. It’s the best. Not sticky, slightly plumping, and smells amazing.
If you had a yacht, what would be the name of it?
“FOREVER YOUNG” my last name and when I picture me on a Yacht I see my kids running around; they alone keep me young.
What was the best piece of advice you received when you started your career?
“People will always do business with people they like.” So simple and so effective.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received now that you’re in your career?
Well, when I was in sales it was “never leave any stones unturned” and now in my full-time job as a mother it’s: sometimes you gotta just have YES days. Say yes to everything if it helps get your through the day… HAHA!
Red, white, or rose?
Depends on the time. White, day; Red, winter; and rose all day, summer.
When I dance I look like….
An 80s aerobics instructor with a splash of a Missy Elliot music video.
Who do you channel when you’re about to do something that scares you?
My mom. I always think about what she would say to me.
