THE EDIT

Letter from the Editor
When the idea of The Edit by Miriam Alden was introduced, it was always going to be highly personal, but I could never have imagined that it would coincide with the Horse Girl Fall energy that is out there this season. While for me it is always Horse Girl Fall, it has been so fun and exciting to see so many equestrian-inspired collections out there. This season feels the most “me” of almost any collection I have ever done.
Two of my favourite pieces are the Fair Isle Knit and the Barn Jacket. I love the combination of the vegan leather collar and the gold buttons mixed with such a traditional green canvas. The colours of the new Fair Isle are the same colours as my horse, Elle. I was inspired by a vintage horse print fleece I had when I was younger for the new sherpa print. The socks are just so cute, too! There are so many pieces that I felt I was missing in my wardrobe for both my countryside life and my city life. The new Babes Supporting Babes crew is my favourite sweatshirt fit we have ever done. I could go on and on, but really, I just feel like this collection is so special and so Brunette and so me.
When I started working on this collection, it was very aspirational. I have had the same dream for myself since I was young, and this collection is an homage to her. The nine-year-old horse girl who dreamt of a life in fashion. When I received the images back after our shoot, I was actually brought to tears. What I saw staring right back at me in those photos was everything I could have ever dreamed of.
This journey has been a ride full of more than I can ever put into words, and it was all presented to me in the form of a photo shoot. It turned out that the mood board was my life, and this collection is the collection of my dreams.
